Understanding the Person with Dementia

This program provides foundational knowledge and skills needed to effectively interact with people who are living with dementia. It will also provide participants with an updated perspective on national statistics and the impact these figures will have on future care provision.

ATTENDEES WILL:

  •    Describe functions of the brain relating to dementia
  •    Explain the link between dementia and genetics and the importance of a differential diagnosis
  •    Discover how to introduce non-pharmacological techniques into practice

DURATION: 2 hours

PARTICIPANTS: This session is for Care Workers, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses and other allied health professionals.
