Living With Memory Loss Program

What is the Living with Memory Loss Program?

The Living with Memory Loss Program is a FREE five week program for people with early stage dementia and their family members. The program provides information and support in a small group setting, where you will be able to learn from and share with others in a similar situation. Following the program, you are invited to meet together in ongoing support groups.

 

Topics include:

  • Symptoms and diagnosis
  • Adapting to changes
  • Treatments
  • Practical strategies for managing memory loss
  • Looking after yourself
  • Planning for the future
  • Services available to you
  • Legal issues

 

How do I get involved?

The Living with Memory Loss Program is for people living in the community with a diagnosis of dementia (or in the process of diagnosis), along with their family members or friends.

Living With Memory Loss Workshop

What is the Living with Memory Loss Workshop?

The Living with Memory Loss Program is a FREE two hour workshop for people with early stage dementia and their family members. The workshop provides information and support for people who aren’t able to attend the six week program.

 

Topics include:

  • How can I be proactive about this?

  • Latest research and treatments

  • Maintaining a positive balance

  • Strategies for coping with memory loss

Give It A Go!

What is Give it a Go?

Give it a Go is a social event for people with early stage dementia and their family members and friends. It provides an opportunity for people with dementia to ‘come and try’ a new activity each month in a safe and supportive environment.

Monthly social events are run in various locations within Adelaide.

Creative Art Program

A creative support group for people living with dementia. Topics include exploration of difficult emotions through creativity, creating wellbeing through positive emotion, engagement and accomplishment through art and increase self-awareness with discussion about dementia while being supported by a dementia link worker.

Connexus

Connexus is a social support program for people with a diagnosis of dementia who are under 65 years of age. The program aims to reduce social isolation and improve quality of life for people by attending a variety of flexible group social opportunities.

Understanding Dementia
