Alzheimer’s Australia SA was excited to host a series of events in Port Lincoln on the 18 & 19 of April. Our Chief Executive Officer, Kathryn Quintel, provided information and advice on keeping a healthy lifestyle and the benefits you may receive by making your brain health a priority at our ‘Preventing Dementia Seminar’.
The following day AASA hosted, ‘Mindful of Dementia Day’, a day to provide empowerment, appreciation and support for people living with dementia their families and carers.
The event opened with the launch of our new mobile application Cultura, following with a Creating Dementia Friendly Communities Forum providing information, advice and an opportunity to ask questions on what makes a community dementia friendly.
The day featured renowned guest speakers Associate Professor Mark Yates and Associate Professor Michael Woodward along with AASA CEO Kathryn Quintel, Deputy Mayor of Port Lincoln Neville Starke, Peter Trealor MP, Rowan Ramsey MP AASA Consumer and dementia advocate, Ian Gladstone.
